Preferable over Pleasurable III – Minimizing Cost of poor Quality

If the delivery schedule is very tight, process has to be tighter. Process here does not mean the extent of the work products/documents rather the right thinking and synergistic actions that excites all the stakeholders in getting the results they want.

Many projects world over have repeatedly experienced higher Cost of poor  Quality  in their projects due to fire fighting activities like fixing production bugs and issues.  Right mix of planning in terms of dealing with preventive, appraisal and failure costs would have saved lots of dollars in many cases. Getting on the same page with regard to product prioritization, in the context of current sprint theme could be main key in avoiding failure costs in Agile projects. Having good average of right experienced team resources will reduce the training costs that contribute to prevention costs.

Using the automated reviews and just enough measurements systems normalizes the appraisal costs effectively.

Similarly focusing on Just enough features in the sprint context will lessen if not eliminate failure costs.
